Watch to learn more about what I do and what you can find on this website.

Hello, I’m Catherine, and welcome to my website. The first thing to do is watch this video.

I help ambitious and curious English language teachers keep current in their advanced English, calm their inner critic, and renew their joy in exploring and discovering English.

“As an advanced speaker of English, it can sometimes be difficult to keep progressing, especially when you lack qualified feedback. Catherine has exceeded all of my expectations. She has not only noticed aspects of my pronunciation which could be improved but has also given helpful, objective, and - most importantly - kind feedback. I’m very glad for the opportunity to learn from her and would recommend this experience to anyone who would like to take their English to the next level.” – Bruna Passos, Brazil

“Dear Catherine,

You’re an incredibly competent, generous, thoughtful, and supportive teacher. You inspire enthusiasm and curiosity, giving accurate and careful feedback and listening attentively to your students with real interest in them. This is precious. Thank you so much for your lessons.” — Sabina Damiani, Italy

“Working with Catherine (you!) was the highlight of my week. We consistently had the best discussions, both vocabulary and content-wise, and the materials she provided were always top-notch. I was constantly astounded by the precision and curation of everything she shared. It also felt incredibly liberating to have a space where I could truly be myself and share all my crazy ideas without the usual pressure of being a role model. As teachers, we don't always get to explore and play with language freely, as we often need to be more certain in our word choices to best guide students.

My sessions with Catherine were all about that exploration, digging deeper, expanding horizons, questioning, and playfully experimenting with language in a way that felt energizing, not tiring or dull – even if the homework was always thorough! I highly recommend her to anyone looking to challenge their English, find a caring and respectful teacher, and someone who genuinely listens and is there to support you. I'll truly miss our Thursday conversations!” — Jessy Dias, Brazil

You sometimes worry that your English is slipping away. You want to keep it strong and supple.

You’re an English language teacher who wants to maintain and expand upon your advanced (C1/C2) English in engaging conversations.

You’ve been studying English for a while (maybe years!) and want to use it to discuss and explore engaging topics while also sometimes rummaging around for, other times carefully mining language that stands out, makes you pause, and lights a spark.

You rarely get to be a student anymore. You crave the place and space to be curious about English and dive into the nuances of advanced English.

You’re seeking a fresh perspective on how to approach English, for yourself but also your learners.

You want feedback from time to time on your productive skills, but you also want to challenge your receptive skills by listening to podcasts and reading articles that push you way out of your comfort zone.

You wish to work with someone you trust and a person who’ll be honest with you. You want to work with someone who knows what it’s like to learn another language.

    Is this you?

With my feedback and your hard work, you’ll feel like you got the best tune-up you’ve ever had. You showed up for and pushed yourself to climb up and over the next ridge in the path you’re on.

    Listening matters.

Sure we listen all the time…for ideas. That’s good.

But to listen better, to speak better, we’ve got to listen for the sounds of English.

    English is fast, connected, messy.

Hear You Go podcast is for intermediate and advanced curious people who want to practice listening.

Listen for more than just new vocabulary: listen for word and sentence stress, contractions and reductions, and rhythm and intonation… all those sounds you find in fast, connected, messy spoken English.
