When I reached out to Catherine, I had no confidence whatsoever in myself about how I sounded when speaking. I knew there was something “wrong” with my pronunciation but had no idea what exactly was wrong with it. No idea where or how to start. Taking weekly 1:1 sessions with Catherine has made me aware of many sounds I’d hitherto ignored. I love how she is willing to work on the topics that I bring to class, which makes the lessons all the more relevant, and, what’s more, her reactive feedback to my speech production helps me tackle the problem when it happens, before it’s forgotten or lost in conversation. Catherine is my pronunciation coach, but, at the same time, a fellow teacher with whom I inevitably exchange views about teaching.
