WILDE: The Listening Festival, 3rd edition.
An 8-Week Global Podcast Experience for English Speakers & Educators
A professional development experience that feels like a deep breath of fresh air.
WILDE: The Listening Festival is an 8-week guided listening and discussion course designed for English teachers and advanced learners who want to reconnect with the pleasure and purpose of listening.
WILDE celebrates women’s voices and global English accents by using podcasts hosted by women to prompt our discussions.
You don’t need more vocabulary or advanced, formal, academic writing (unless you do, and then, this course isn't for you).
How about this instead: deeper listening, richer conversations, and a reason to get excited about English again, this language you love and teach?
Why participate in “The Listening Festival”?
Because listening can be joyful, and it can open our eyes and ears to the experiences of others through powerful stories.
🎙️ Each week, we explore a different podcast hosted by women, offering us diverse voices, real stories, and a variety of Englishes from around the world. You’ll engage with authentic language, expand your vocabulary naturally, and strengthen your listening confidence, all while sharing ideas in a supportive small group.
No slides. Optional homework. Thought-provoking prompts. Just meaningful conversation.
Oh, and lots of personal feedback from me, because you want some reassurance from time to time. (Read some of the testimonials below.)
What You’ll Experience
Each 75-minute session includes:
Curated podcasts that celebrate women’s voices, perspectives, and accents
Guided discussion to help you notice the soundscapes of English as a lingua franca
Cultural connections that help us connect with others, and that help us see that our concerns are similar to those of women around the world
Reflection prompts that offer plenty of food for thought and discussion
You’ll finish the Festival feeling more connected to your advanced English, more confident, and ideally very inspired in your English.

English speakers (C1–C2) who crave meaningful conversations
English teachers who are thirsty to reconnect with the joy of language

What Past Participants Say
“When I joined the course, I wasn't expecting getting so much attention from you because I know that group work is completely different from working 1:1 with the teacher, with the mentor, and it's just so kind of you that you actually take the time to listen to what we're saying, and then providing us with those comments and ideas and feedback on our speaking skills… I love being part of this group! I don't remember the last time I took a group course with so much interaction… The best part of this course has been how everyone just feels comfortable sharing whatever is on their mind.” - Jessy D., Brazil
“WILDE is a full learning experience. The course offers you plenty of opportunities to work on all your language skills (not only listening!) without being overwhelming. More importantly, it's very authentic, thanks to Catherine's passion, generosity and approach to language teaching. It’s an empowering course, both for language learning and for personal life (listening to other women's stories, discussing interesting topics that matter to you, sharing ideas, changing points of view... it's what language learning is really about, isn't it? – Sabina D., Italy
“Thanks so much for all the feedback you provide. I appreciate it so much. Every time that I see a notification in my document that there's new content there, I usually get very excited, and I like the fact that you not only respond to the language but also to the content that we are providing, and I love that. I am a person that believes in learning language through content a lot, and that's that's why I feel like this course has been so rewarding because we are not just looking at languages as a separate being from ourselves we are using it, we are analyzing it being used by other people in its natural, lively form and that's I think what language is, this live being that is always changing and that can take so many forms. And it's so good when we can interact with other people and play with the words…my feedback is the most positive possible! I really enjoy talking to you. I look forward to the sessions! – Larissa C., Brazil
